Show Former Cedar Woman Publishes Book for Children Recently off the press is a volume vol-ume "Talks for Tots" by Joyce Maughan, published by the Des-eret Des-eret Book Co., Suit Lake City, especially for LDS children. I The author is a former resident I of Cedar City and is well known to many people here. Mrs. Maughan, the former Joyce Bo-wen, Bo-wen, a daughter ol John and Sara Bowen, lived in Cedar City, from 1935 to 19-17. She attended elementary school, Junior and 6enior high schools as well a College of Southern Utah. Two of Mrs. Maughan's sisters, Mrs. Ross (Zlna) Woolsey and Mrs. Wayne (Idona) Jackson, reside re-side in Cedar City. Mrs. Maughan and her husband and their six children are now Jiving in Mesa, Aiizona. Included in Mrs. Maughan's book are stories on religious subjects sub-jects and a number of suitable poems to be used by tots for preparations of "talks" when asked to give one for any type church or other function. Mrs. Maughan, a trained scnool teacher, holds a bachelor of science sci-ence degree from University of Idaho s well as having done graduate work at the University of Idaho, Eastern Washington College and Arizona Slate University Uni-versity and !as called upon her teaching background for thi technique she has employed. |
