Show Much Activity Due On Interstate 15 In Coming Months Considerable activity on Interstate Inter-state 15 through Iron County can be expected this summer, with three contracts under way between be-tween Cedar City and Iron-Washington County line. Latest project to be advertised if for landscaping of the highway high-way from the county line north to Hamilton's Fort. A call for bids on this project appears in this issue of the Iron County Record with bids to be opened on Tuesday, Tues-day, April 6. Nin and One-half Mile The length of highway to be covered under this new project is 9.541 miles, and is that section of highway contracted last year by Stout Construction Co. and not yet completed. The contract calls for 218 acres of grass seeding seed-ing and 23t acres of cleanup and weed control. The project is to be completed by Aug. 31, 1906. This section of highway was nearing completion last fall when work was suspended. Most of the grading was completed, and overpasses and interchanges were nearing completion, but mosi of the oil surfacina; remains to be done. Resumption of work on this contract is expected to begirt again in the near future Construction to Cedar The third project is for const? con-st? u.t ion of the highway front the Stout project to the south boundary of Cedar City. This contract was awarded to VV. W. Clyde Company recently and work is already under way on the project. This contract is for about five miles of highway. |
