Show Ivor Jones Assumes Presidency of Livestock Association The Cedar Canyon Livestock Association met in the Cedar City Ranger's office for their annual meeting on March 11. Members in attendance were: Ivor Jones, Leonard Ashdown, Lorin Jones, Theon (Bud) Bauer, Louis Maxwell, Max-well, Vergene Simkins, Thelmer Stratton and J. M. Palmer, outgoing out-going member. The U. S. Forest Service was represented by Foyer Olsen, District Dis-trict Forest Ranger, and Jerry L. Green, Range Conservationist. The association elected the following fol-lowing officers: President, Ivor Jones; vice president, Leonard Ashdown; secretary-treasurer, Loin Lo-in Jones; board members, Theon (Bud) Bauer and Louis Maxwell and Forest Service Advisory Board Member, Leonard Ashdown. Ash-down. The Cedar Canyon Association was first organized about 1917 and is one of the oldest associations associa-tions on the Dixie National Forest. For-est. The purpose of the association Is to handle negotiations between be-tween the Forest Service and permittees per-mittees more effectively. Some of the main topics discussed were, revision of present constitution and by-laws for a more active organization, or-ganization, maintenance and possible pos-sible reconstruction of fences, grazing fees, non-use agreements and animals killed by predators and other means. |
