Show Fair Committees Named, Go Into Action With Just slightly more than a month left before the lli.r8 Iron County Fair which Is to be held In Parowan on Saturday, Sunday 1 and Monday, Aug. 30 and 31 i and Sept. 1, all committees and sub- committees have been named nam-ed and are now busy on the various var-ious departments of the annual show. D. Amasa Stones, general chairman of the event, has made several chainges In the original fair board and has added several sev-eral new members to the general gener-al committee, with the general committee and and department heads now being made up as follows: Mr. Stones, chairman and head of the Labor Day Parade committee; com-mittee; Alberta Evans and Joan Wheatley, secretaries; Aird G.j Merkley, advertising; Huldah M. Hulet, publicity; Ralph S. Orton. concessions; Klien Rollo, Miss Iron County contest; Clinton Thornton and Bryce Adams. Entertainment; En-tertainment; Earl Bunn, Crops department, Florence R. Miller, homemaklng, Bart W. Mortensen, arts and crafts, Georgia B. Mitchell, Mitch-ell, flowers; Wallace Sjoblom, 4-H. 4-H. Club exhibits and demonstra-ton, demonstra-ton, and Jess W. Guymon County Coun-ty Commission advisor. Mr. Stones states that a theme has been chosen for the parade, and he has his committee named nam-ed and the first meetine set for next Monday night. This parade will he held on Monday morning, Sept. 1 (Labor Day) and will be one of th big entertainment features fea-tures of the Fair. Pre-Fair activities activi-ties will Include Miss Iron County Coun-ty contests In the various towns of the county and the final contest con-test to name the queen of the fair and her attendants. Two big afternoon's of horse racing have been set for the event, to be held on Saturday and Monday afternoons at the city race track. This part of the erertalnment program is under the direction of the Red Hill Wranglers, local horsemen's or- ganiation. I i |
