Show Valley Demos Place Hopes on Otto Fife ESCALANTE VALLEY--In 1958 the Iron County Democratic Par. tv is letting all its hopes in the campaign to elect a county sher- of Escalante businessman, and former Cedar City chief of police, Otto Fife. Since Fife was the only democratic candidate to file for the position he will automatically meet the winner of the republican republi-can race in November. A veteran of six years service on the Utah State Highway patrol, pat-rol, Fife arso served for two years as Chief of Police in Cedar City. With his brother Wilford Fife he Is owner-operator of the Crossroads Cross-roads Service in the Escalante Valley where he is known as a real community leader. He was elected to two terms as president of the Escalante Valley Coordin. ating Council, and has served on the council In some capacity virtually vir-tually since its organization. A charter member of the Lions Club, Fife has recently taken over the reins as the president. While he was a young man he was a missionary to France for the LDS church and he has continued con-tinued to be active in church affairs. af-fairs. At present he Is serving as the Uvada Stake president of the High Priests.
