Show Officers Chosen to Head Dinner Club Kumen Gardner was named president of the Escalante Knife and Fork Club of Cedar City Tuesday, when the board of directors, elected by the membership, mem-bership, met to organize for the coming season. Mr. Gardner succeeds suc-ceeds Reed Berrett as head of the club. Amos Hatch of Parowan was named vice.prvsldent to succeed E. W. Southwick in that position. posi-tion. Eugene T. Woolf was reappointed re-appointed secretary of the organization or-ganization for another year. Members of the board include Dr. Royden C. Braidthwaite, Dr. L. V. Broadbent, M. A. Cowley, Richard Jones, A. W. Stephenson. D. L. Sargent and Dr. John Beal. A list of speakers for the winter win-ter program was tentatively approved ap-proved by the officers. Glen Morris, Mor-ris, a producer of science si ows, will open the season in Oc'ober, and will be followed by a nun- ber of outstanding speakers. Gale W. McGee, a recent visitor visit-or to Russia and the Kremlin, will be the speaker In November. In January Albert G. Karnell, an air force chaplain who has seen service in many countries, will be the speaker. A flying reporter will appear in February and In March John Pettley, a London-born London-born Englishman, will be the speaker. The final visitor will be John Temple Graves, who will appear in April, and will speak on the subject of "The States Will Not Surender." |
