Show ENTERPRISE Mrs. Kenneth Hunt Sunday at sacrament meeting Leland Huntsman, who has been bishop of the Enterprise Ward, Uvada Stake, for the past eight and a half years, was released, together with his counselors, Ivin L. Holt and Grant Clove, and ward clerk, Ivin Barlow. A few weeks ago at a previous sacrament meeting, a standing vote was taken to see if the people peo-ple were in favor of making two wards in Enterprise. After hearing hear-ing a discussion by the stake authorities, the majority voted in favor of the proposal. Many of the classrooms have become overcrowded, and also it was pointed out that more positions would be created, giving more people an opportunity of working work-ing in the church, which would also be advantageous. Two new bishoprics were sustained sus-tained and set apart Sunday, Feb. 11. For the First Ward, which is on the west side of town, Ivin Barlow was chosen as bishop, with Willard Randall first counselor and Cloo Crawford sec? was chosen as ward clerk, to be assisted by Reed Hunt. Grant Clove was chosen as bishop of the Second Ward, on the east side of town. His counselors coun-selors are Lavon Jones, first, and Ervin Truman, second. Stanley Jones was chosen for ward clerk, to be assisted bv Billie M. Hunt. m - It was announced that officers for the auxiliary organizations would be chosen and sustained next Sunday, Feb. 20. Stake quarterly conference for the Uvada Stake will be held in Enterprise Feb. 26 and 27, President Presi-dent Arthur Barlocker announced. an-nounced. Elder El Ray L. Christiansen Chris-tiansen of the general authorities authori-ties of the L D S church will be in attendance. P-TA PARTY The next Enterprise P-TA meeting meet-ing will be held Wednesday, Feb. 23, according to Velma Twitchell, president. It Is to be the Founders' Found-ers' Day meeting of the organ!-atizon, organ!-atizon, with all past P-TA presidents presi-dents to be honored. A skit com- memorating Founders' Day will be given under the direction of Marilla Terry. The high school band will also furnish a few numbers under the direction of Karl Staheli. The P-TA Is naturally very Interested In the band, having contributed contribut-ed $500.00 toward new uniforms for the band members. The American Legion Auxiliary Auxil-iary of the Watt-Hunt Post No. 80, will have a stork shower Feb. 17 at 3 p. m. at the Corner Cafe building. Everyone is invited to attend. The Legion Auxiliary has as one of its projects, keeping baby layettes on hand to be contributed con-tributed to those in need of such assistance. |
