Show 1955 Polio Drive Chairman Praises Support "It is most gratifying to know that the people of Iron County are really in support of efforts to stamp out Polio." That is the summation of the county activities ac-tivities carried out during the month of January, by A. E. What-cott, What-cott, county chairman. Whatcott expressed his appreciation appre-ciation to all the workers who have given so freely of their time and efforts, and to all who contributed con-tributed so generously. The county chairman thanked the schools, the civic clubs and the community chairmen and their workers for the fine support sup-port f'hat was given throughout the campaign. Talent shows wsre held, a large window at Safeway store was blacked out by contributions, the Kiwanis Club sponsored a Polio Posse that raided the civic clubs of Cedar City and established establish-ed road blockades. Then, Whatcott What-cott stated, we must not overlook over-look the successful campaign of the marching mothers, and those who were so willing to cover a district of the business and community, com-munity, The Sponsor Corps at the College of Southern Utah made collections at the ball games. Whatcott pointed out that one half of the money collected will be turned to the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, Paraly-sis, the other half will be retained re-tained here in Iron County for any emergency arising from Po- jlio. |
