Show Rams Remain Undefeated in League Play: Hand Milford 74-42 Drubbing Parowan 5 0 1.000 Delta 4 2 .667 Millard 4 2 .fG7 Beaver 1 4 .200 Milford 0 6 .000 Coach Bruce Decker's Parowan High School basketball team, after af-ter a week's layoff from league play, took on the Milford Tigers on Wednesday night at Parowan and rolled up a 74 to 42 victory vic-tory over the winless Tigers. And that same evening, the Millard Mil-lard Eagles of Fillmore traveled to Delta and pulled the first big upset of the season to most of us by handing the Rabbits a 40 to 28 defeat, placing the two Millard Mil-lard county teams in a tie for second place with 4-2 standings. Uncomfortable Position Although this places the Parowan Paro-wan Rams out two carries ahead of the pack it also places them in a position- where they will have to be it their best in the next two games, the first of which is Saturday night at Delta with the second one next Friday with Millard at Fillmore. Each of these two teams is in a position posi-tion to come up and tie or even beat out the Rrnis for the division divi-sion championship, although the latter is not probable. And both of those teams can be hard to beat on their hgme floors; in fact Millard has beaten the Rams the last two years at Fillmore when it was way riown in the league standings. Thus Coach Decker and his team are faced with two toughies in the next ten days, with a let down at either place likely to place them in the loss column. In last week's games in the division the two Millard County teams, Delta and Millard, took close games from the Beaver County teams. Delta came to Milford Mil-ford and won 48 to 41 and Millard Mil-lard took a three point 48 to 45 win from Beaver. In the other game Saturday the Milford and Beaver teams play for cellar honors on the Beaver floor. In the Parowan-Milford game the Tigers scored first and stayed even with the Rams much of the way through the first quarter, but fell behind before the period ended, mostly on excellent foul shooting by the Parowan players. The quarter ended 22-14 for the Rams. Rams Race Ahead Tlay was about even in the second quarter, Parowan scoring scor-ing 11 points to Milford's nine, I with the halftimt? score reading 33-23. After the rest the Rams started rolling, scoring 19 points in the third quarter to 10 for the Tigers, and getting 22 points In , the final quarter to 10 for the visitors, this in spite of the fact that Coach Decker substituted rather ra-ther freely during this time. Rodney Bentley led the Ram scoring with 20 points; Erie Clark was next with 18 and Con-nell Con-nell Mitchell came third with 12. For Milford, Wadsworth with 12, McDonald with 9 and Stoker with 8 were their best men.
