Show February Designated for Heart Fund Wednesday, Feb. 23 Set for City Wide Canvass February, designated as Heart Fund Month throughout the United Unit-ed States has also been proclaimed pro-claimed in Cedar City, according to D. L. Sargent, chairman of the fund drive in Cedar City. Not only is the Heart Fund committee of Cedar City attempting attempt-ing to raise funds for the purpose pur-pose of experiment and research, but a concentrated effort to educate edu-cate the people on the diseases of the heart, has been undertaken by the committee. However , highlight of the month's activities will be the solicitation of funds to be accomplished ac-complished on Wednesday evening, eve-ning, Feb. 23. The Heart Committee Com-mittee has asked the Junior Chamber of Commerce to make a door to door campaign for funds. Working on the theme, "Help Your Heart Fund Help Your Heart," the activities in the community com-munity to this point have been primarily educational, Sargent stated. Sargent also pointed out that money derived from the fund campaign will be used for study of the heart. In the past, grants have been made to the University Univer-sity of Utah medical school for this type of study. Schools, civic organizations and other interested groups have been supplied with information In relation to the heart and in some cases lectures by physicians of the community have been given. It has been pointed out that 52 per cent of all deaths are caused by malfunctions of the heart and circulatory system. "Help Your Heart Fund Help Your Heart."
