Show Basketball Season Practice Starts For College Broncos With football season nearing its end and the basketball season coming up soon Coach Cleo Petty has issued a call for the first practice session for the indoor sport. Basketball hopefuls have been asked to report at the field- house Monday afternoon at which time suits will be issued and practice sessions started. At the present time only five lettermen from last year's Bronco squad are on the campus, and three of these are members of the football team, Including John Wood, Keith Cooley and Don Ray Melling. The other two, who have not been out for the fall sport, are Ray Robinson and Doug Stoker. About 18 other prospective team members are expected to report for practice Monday with five others who are playing, football ready to join them as soon as the last grid game Is played. The five who are on the football squad are Steve Rozelle, Hurricane; Hur-ricane; Ross Marshall. Millard; Leo Prestwich, Delta; Ted Atherley, Ather-ley, Salt Lake City; Max Guttierez Gut-tierez and Larry Adams, Moapa Valley. Others expected to report Monday Mon-day include Gary Evans, brother of Daryl "DoDa" Evans who played play-ed here for the past two years; Bob Davis, Piute; Carl Winfield, Donald Floyd, and Dale Lang-ston, Lang-ston, Delta; Garry Jenkins, Cyprus, Cy-prus, Ted Chidester, Panguitch; Dale Nielson, North Cache; Tom Dobrusky and Melvin Mitchell, Parowan; Garry Anderson, Mil-ford; Mil-ford; Gary Robinson, Gunnison; Demont Christiansen, Monroe, and Leon Busenbard, Bicknell. Others are expected to report during the first or second weekl of practice. The first game of the" season will be played on Dec. 4, against Chaffey College,' of California. I |
