Show Subjects Selected For Presentation fit Social Work Meet Miss Mamie Eck, director of the Iron County Department of Public Welfare, announced this week that southern section, Utah Conference of Social Work would be held in Cedar City Tuesday, Nov. 10. The conference will be concerned con-cerned with a discussion of Utah's divorce problem and mental men-tal health. Miss Kck is in charge of arrangements in the city and Irving K. Rasband, Salt Lake City, president of the Utah Conference Con-ference of Social Work, is directing direct-ing planning on the state level. Mr. Rasband will be in attendance attend-ance at the conference, it Is understood. Meetings have been scheduled at the College of Southern Utah. A special feature will be a noon luncheon at the C S U commons building. Attendance at this luncheon, which is open to the public, will be by reservation, Miss Eck states. Morning and afternoon sessions ses-sions have been scheduled for the one-day event. Anyone may attend any or all of the meetings, meet-ings, it wqs emphasized. The morning session will be devoted to the development of the divorce problem as it pertains per-tains to the state of Utah. The afternoon session win be directed toward a discussion on mental health. A recent world confer-encp confer-encp on mpntal hpalth hold last year in Canada will serve as a guide in the afternoon session, Miss Eck stated. Authorities from all over the state will be in attendance. at-tendance. Lois McConnell, local welfare office and Edwin L. Peterson, head of the social science department de-partment at C S U, are assisting Miss. Eck in local arrangements. Entertainment features will be planned in connection with the annual conference. |
