Show Represents Utah In Signing "Youth Declaration" r ' z.j 1A Cedar City girl rearesented Utah at the signing sign-ing of a "Children's "Chil-dren's Declara-tion," Declara-tion," at Independence Inde-pendence Hall, on July 4, according ac-cording to word received by her grandpa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Al-Ima Al-Ima Knight of -ICedar City. Nancy Knight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milo C. Knight, represented repre-sented Utah as one of the signers. sign-ers. Nancy, who is living in Philadelphia Phil-adelphia where her faiher is in military service, was asked to sign the document for the children chil-dren of Utah. The declaration was signed by representatives of 48 states, and will be placed in a show case next to the original Declaration of Independence. JThe signing was done in a ceremony on Independence Day on a scroll made of sheepskin. It begins with a declaration, "We, the children of America, pledge our faith in the future . . . ." and states that they have studied countless documents and know that they are more valuable valua-ble than the parchment upon which they are written. It says that the children can see history being made at the moment it occurs, oc-curs, and ends with a resolve to be free. Nancy is 11 years of age, and was born. in Cedar City. |
