Show Peoples Market Team Dominates Week's Play in Women's Race , Peoples Market, tied for third in the Women's Softball league last week, Jumped into a tie for second In the final standings of the first half league play. Making up two games during the week to officially close the first half of play for the women's wo-men's league, Peoples market downed Thornton Drug in one of the closest games of the season, sea-son, 13 to 12. and then easily pushed over Endsley's 22 to 7 in the second make-up game. Biedermans 6 0 1.000 Peoples Market ....4 2 .667 Milts Lounge 4 2 .667 Hunter Hardware 3 3 .500 Thornton Drug .... 2 4 .333 Endsleys 1 5 .167 El Rey Cafe 1 5 .167 Two games of the second half were played during the week, both involving Peoples Market, making a total of four games played by the Marketers this week. They beat Thornton Drug 25 to 10 and El Rey Cafe 15 to 4 to take the' lead in the second half of play. Games scheduled for next week's play are Hunters vs Milts and Thorntons vs Endsleys on Thursday, July 10, and Milts vs Biedermans and Peoples vs Endsleys End-sleys on Tuesday, July 15. A great deal of effort is being put forth by the members of the women's association for the tournament tour-nament that is to be held in Cedar City July 24, 25 and 26. It Is contemplated by officials that 12 teams from all over southern Utah will enter the tourney with teams from St. George, Mllford and Minersville having already accepted invitations. However, the full 12 teams have not yet been signed for the meet. |
