Show County 4-H'rs Gather For Annual y " Stake M. I. A. Opens Approximately 350 Iron county 4-H club members have gathered at the Duck Creek recreation camp for the annual three-day encampment. The encampment officially opened today (Thursday) (Thurs-day) but many of the youngsters young-sters began gathering at the camp Wednesday evening. State 4-H club leaders David Sharp, Jr., and Fern Shipley of Logan, together with the county agents, Stephen L. Brower and Miss Fern Johnson, and club leaders, will supervise activities at the annual event. Older 4-H members who attended at-tended the special 4-H school at the Branch Agricultural college recently will provide much of the leadership for the affair. A full program of events for the young people attending will be conducted throughout each of the three days, including contests con-tests of various kinds, nature hikes, and recreational activities. Campfire programs will be featured fea-tured Thursday and Friday evenings, eve-nings, with many adults expected expect-ed to attend each night The 4-Hers will break camp Saturday afternoon and return to their homes. Following the flag' raising ceremonies this afternoon the first order of business was the I election of camp officers. Camp j officer candidates included: for mayor, Tom Holland, Beryl; Ma-vis Ma-vis Jones, Enoch; Donna Tullis, Parowan, and Henry Vanden-berghe, Vanden-berghe, Cedar City.
