Show City Opens Bids On Pump and Motor for Well Bids for supplying a pump and motor for the new city culinary water well north of the city were opened at the city offices Monday Mon-day afternoon, with seven companies com-panies submitting bids. The range of prices were about the same, but because of detailed information in-formation contained in each bid, all offers must be studied carefully care-fully before a decision is reached by the city on which bid to accept. ac-cept. Electrical engineers have been consulted with regards to the specifications submitted, and a water works engineer will be asked to study the bids before a decision is reached. Some of the companies bid on 200 and 250 horsepower motors and some of the bids were for just the pump and motor and others included starters and other oth-er equipment, therefore the amounts of the bids did not mean much without careful study stu-dy of the bids. However, the companies submitting sub-mitting bids, and the amounts they offered to supply the equipment equip-ment for are listed as follows: Deardon Motor company, Vernal, Ver-nal, 200 hp, $6,701.00, and 250 hp. $9,162.25. Lang company, Salt Lake City, 200 hp, with starter, $9,162.25. Peerless company, represented by Fred Perry of Cedar City, 200 hp, with starter, 8,747,60; 250 hp pump and motor, $7,747.00. Pamona Pump company, represented rep-resented by E. M. Colvin of Cedar Ce-dar City, 250 hp, $8,769.00; 200 hp, $7,851.00. Winthrop Pump company, 250 hp, complete, $9,490.00. Mine and Smelting company. 250 hp, with starter, $9,951.50; 200 hp, with starter, $8,422.00. Layne and Bowler, 200 hp, with starter, $7,932.00; 250 hp, with starter, $9,722.00. |
