Show Gordon V. Clark Enters Republican Stat6 Senate Race for 11th District Gordon W. Clark of St. George.ben and Mary Louisa Wooley Washington County. Republican chairman, has announced his candidacy for the nomination on the Republican ticket for State Senator from the 11th Senatorial district. Mr. Clark's statement of his acceptance of a designation of nomination, and of his quail-fications quail-fications are given below. In view of the fact that a designation of nomination for the Republican nomination for State Senator has been filed in the office of the Secretary of State at Salt Lake City, Utah, containing the signatures of leading Republicans from both Iron and Washington counties and in view of the fact that I have received numerous letters and solicitations urging that I accept the nomination, I have concluded that it is fitting and proper and a duty to accept the nomination in order that the Republicans Re-publicans of Iron and Washington Washing-ton counties may express a preference pref-erence for their nominee for Senator Sen-ator from the Eleventh Senatorial Senator-ial district. At one time I held a view that it would promote party harmony if only one person were named to be voted upon at the Primary and I announced that I withdrew and would decline the nomination for the reason stated. I now feel that It will promote party harmony to have a good clean vigorous contest in selecting select-ing the candidate to go upon the Republican ticket in the November Novem-ber election. In view of these facts, I wish to announce that I have-accepted the nomination, filed on my behalf, for Senator in the Eleventh Elev-enth Senatorial District. I pledge to the voters,of Washington and Iron counties a good, vigorous, clean contest in securing the nomination for this office in the primary election and if selected at the primary I will wage a vigorous vig-orous campaign for the November Novem-ber election.
