Show Parowan Gains Split In Week-end Games The Parowan high school basketball bas-ketball team played two games last week end and managed to break even, losing the Friday night game to the Cedar City high Redmen in the Cedar high gymnasium, but winning a thriller thril-ler from the Dixie high Flyers on Saturday nght In the Parowan gym. The Rams lost to the Redmen by a 48 to 37 score and won the Dixie game by a 56-50 score. A story of the Ram-Redman game is found elsewhere In this paper. In the Parowan-Dixle encounter encoun-ter the score was close all during dur-ing the game. Parowan took a one-point 18 to 17 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Flyers went ahead 31 to 28 by half time. The Rams came back in the third period to pass the Flyers and take a 42-37 lead and although being pushed right to the final gun retained this lead to finish ahead 56-50. All the Parowan squad members mem-bers who got in the game did a very good Job against the Dixie outfit which was the best passing team the Rams have met so far this season. The local squad gets a two day practice respite over Christmas, Christ-mas, but will travel to Hurricane for a game with the Hurricane high quintet on Friday after the Christmas holiday. The following night they will get a chance to even the score with the Cedar Redmen on the local court The Rams have one more round of practice games after this week, being scheduled to play at Pan-gultch Pan-gultch on Friday, Jan, 2, and then entertain the Piute high team from Clrclevllle on Saturday, Satur-day, Jan. 3. One week from then play will begin in the Millard division of Region Six with the Milford high Tigers coming to Parowan, Millard Mil-lard playing at Delta and Hinckley Hinck-ley playing at Beaver. |
