Show 1953 County Budget Readied; Public Hearing Scheduled The Board of Iron County Commissioners has called for a public hearing on the proposed budget of expenditures for 1952 in Iron County. The hearing will be held in the courthouse at Parowan Par-owan at 10 a. ' m. Wednesday, Dec. 31. The tentative budget, a copy of which is on file in the office of the county clerk, provides for $373,560.02 with which to conduct con-duct the affairs of .the county during the year.-The amount is only slightly higher than the 1952 budget of $372,272.28, in spite of the fact that it includes an item of $79,203.80 to be used in the construction of a county rest home for aged county residents. The proposed amount to be used for general fund purposes has been set at $88,629, as compared com-pared to $77,851.83 in the 1952 budget. The county road fund is set at only a few dollars more than last year, $21,074, as compared to $21,067 in the 1952 budget. This amount does not include the" funds for county roads received from the State automobile license plates fund. This, it is estimated will be approximately $60,000. The county hospital fund Is considerably higher than last year, but funds for the new county coun-ty rest home is included in this figure. Last year a total of $146,. 332 was budgeted for the hospital. hospi-tal. The amount has been increased in-creased to $182,232, for 1953. A considerable increase is also al-so contemplated in the indigent fund appropriation. Last Year's budget carried $10,824 for this purpose, and this year the tentative ten-tative budget sets up $15,539. No funds are provided in the tentative budget for drouth relief re-lief or for airports. The 1952 budget carried $8,401 for drouth relief,' and $4,881' for airports. |
