Show Chamber of Commerce Plans Annual New Year's Eve Banquet and Dance The social highlight of the holiday season in Cedar City will be the annual Chamber of Commerce New Year's Eve banquet ban-quet and dance, the event staged annually by the civic group as a climax to its year's activities. As has been the case in the past many years the event will be held in the ballroom of 1 Es-calante Es-calante hotel, with everyone invited in-vited to participate. Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth, chairman chair-man of the committee in charge, announced that a candlelight dinner will open the evening's activities. Music appropriate to the occasion and the season will be provided, and very brief reports re-ports will be given by Chamber of Commerce officials. The master mas-ter of ceremonies, L. N. Marsden, Jr., will also highlight community communi-ty accomplishments of the year, by giving recognition to leaders in the various activities. Unusual table decorations are planned as an added feature of the banquet. Immediately following; the-banquet the-banquet the annual News Year's Eve Ball will be field at the hotel. ho-tel. Reservations for the banquet must be made in advance, Dr. Farnsworth states. Many reservations reserva-tions have already been made, and those who plan to attend but have not yet made their reservations res-ervations should do so at once. The admission charge will be $3.50 per plate, which will also admit the holder to the dance following the banquet. The annual election of officers will be completed by mail during dur-ing the week, and the new officers offi-cers introduced at the banquet. |
