Show No Move Yet Made To Name Tickets for Election Although no move has been made as yet by either of the political poli-tical party organizations in Parowan, Paro-wan, to name tickets to be voted on at the municipal election on Nov. , there are still about three weeks left in which to get their tickets named and filed. The filings fil-ings have to be made at least 15 days before the election. The terms of three city coun-cilmen coun-cilmen and the city treasurer expire ex-pire the first of the year and they must either be re elected or replaced. Councilmen whose terms expire this year are Taylor Miller, democrat; Howard Adams and Claude Burton, republicans, and John W. Bentley, treasurer, who is also a republican. Members of the city's official family who were elected in 1949 for 4-year terms are Mayor E. Ray Lyman, councilmen Ed J. King and Edgar Benson, and city recorder, Verda E. Adams, all republicans. So far we haven't learned whether whe-ther the men whose terms are ending will be candidates to succeed suc-ceed themselves nor have we heard anyone being mentioned for those offices. |
