Show Applications Are Due For Appointment To Service Schools Washington, Oct. 3 Prospective Prospect-ive applicants for West Point and Annapolis should prepare immediately im-mediately for competitive examinations, exam-inations, Sen. Wallace F. Bennett Ben-nett (R., Utah) said Wednesday. For 1952 classes the Senator has been allowed three vacancies vacan-cies at Annapolis and one at West Point. He has arranged with the United States Civil Service commission to administer examinations ex-aminations at post offices throughout Utah on Dec. 28, 1951. "I am making an early announcement an-nouncement of these tests so that men wishing to apply can arrange ar-range their courses of study to meet academic requirements at the two institutions," he said. "At the present time I intend to base my appointments on the results re-sults of these competitive examinations." Academy entrance requirements require-ments place most emphasis on English, mathematics, United State history and general aptitude, apti-tude, the Senator said. Men 17 to 22, and in good physical condition who wish to study at either the military or naval academy are request to submit before Oct. 15, a letter to the Senator listing their name, address, educational background and choice of school. Letters of recommendation may be attached. at-tached. A principal and three alternates alter-nates for each vacancy will be named following the examinations, examina-tions, Sen. Bennett said. |
