Show Men Arrested Here To Face Federal Charges in Salt Lake Two men, lodged in the Cedar City jail since Wednesday, Sept. 2(5, were taken by Federal authorities auth-orities Wednesday morning to Salt Lake City to face charges in a federal court of stealing postal bonds and of transporting a stolen automobile across state lines. Taken to Salt Lake City for trial were Ernest G. Hopkins, 21, Marietta, Okla., and George Thomas Gregory, 23, Chicago, III. According to police, the bonds were found on Hopkins, while Gregory had broken out of confinement con-finement four days ago from the Marine base at Pendleton, Calif. The men were arrested by A. H. (Tony) Lambert, chief of police, po-lice, and officer Gam Seegmil-ler Seegmil-ler after two 16-year-old Cedar City boys reported being approached ap-proached to buy the postal bonds. The bonds which were stolen from a home in Torrance, Calif, are valued at $370. |
