Show Green Ram Squad Underdog In Hurricane Tilt A green, injury riddled squad of Parowan Rams opens its football foot-ball schedule on the home field Friday at 2:30 p. m. when they tai.gle with the powerful Hurri-can Hurri-can high team. Coach William Jones' Ram squad lost a practice game two weeks ago to Beaver and drew a bye last Friday when the other teams in the division opened play. The Beaver game cost the Rams the use of Jay Winter, star quarterback, probably for the season, and since then several more players have been added to the injured list. Hurricane was an easy victor over Kanab in last week's opener and is rated with the Cedar Red-men Red-men as the strong teams in the division. The Rams will definitely definite-ly be the underdogs in Friday's game because of this. Burgess Robinson, big tackle is out of this game with a bad ankle, as is Frank Adams, end and Ted Burton, tackle. Nursing minor injuries are Raynor Ka-min-ski, Earl Spencer and Steve Adams, all backs, but who will probably see action Friday. Coach Jones lists the following men as probable starters tomorrow tomor-row afternoon: Ends, Jim Harris and John V. Benson, with Berdell Bentley sure to get in; guards, Garry Rummlar and Gar Johnson; tackles, tac-kles, Spencer Adams and Kenneth Ken-neth Topham with AlRay Orton sure to see action; center, Kendall Ken-dall Lister or Tommy Dobruskie. In the backfield will be Milton Mortensen, Earl Spencer, Willis Robinson as blocking, wing and tailbacks with Melvin Mitchell or David Orton at quarterback. The Rams only have four days rest between Friday's game and their next tilt with Kanab, also on the home field. This game is set for Tuesday at 1:45 p. m. being set ahead because of the UEA convention in Salt Lake City next week. |
