Show Republicans to Hold Primary ElectiononOct.il ; A Republican Primary for the purpose of making nominations for the coming municipal election elec-tion will be held at the Escal-ante Escal-ante hotel ballroom at 8 p. m. Thursday, Oct. 11. The terms of three city coun-cilmen. coun-cilmen. llaldow K. Christensen, democrat; Gail Seegmiller and Marion F. Grames, republicans, and of city treasurer, Mrs. Ross Glass, republican, will expire at the end of the year, and nominations nomin-ations are to be made for candidates candi-dates to fill these positions. There has been very little indication indi-cation as to whom the Republicans Republi-cans will name for these posts. Councilman Seegmiller stated yesterday, that for business reasons, rea-sons, he very definitely would not be a candidate for re-election. Grames has not stated definitely def-initely whether he would accept the nomination for re-election, but it is assumed that he would be willing to run if the party requests it. It is doubtful it he will seek the nomination. Mrs. Glass would probably accept the nomination for re-election to the position of treasurer. We have heard no one mentioned men-tioned for the two council positions po-sitions to replace Mr. Seegmiller or to seek the post now held by the Democratic member of the council. The Democrats have already made nominations for the three council positions, but have not selected a candidate for treasurer. treas-urer. Mr. Christensen has been nominated for re-election, and Myles Walker and Rex Harris have been nominated for the other two council posts. |
