Show ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR THE DESIGN, INSTALLATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF CONTAIN-ERS CONTAIN-ERS AND EQUIPMENT FOR STORAGE AND HANDLING OF LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GASES IN CEDAR CITY, UTAH AND PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING LI-CENSING OF INSTALLERS OF LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GASES, PERMITS FOR IN-STALLATION IN-STALLATION AND THE INSPECTION IN-SPECTION THEREOF. Be it ordained by the City Council of Cedar City, Utah: Section 1. LICENSE. No person, firm, or corporation shall engage In the business of installing and constructing equipment for the use of Liquefied Lique-fied Petroleum gases as hereinafter herein-after defined, within the corporate corpor-ate limits of Cedar City, Utah without first having obtained a license so to do from Cedar City. All persons desiring to obtain such license shall make application applica-tion to the City Recorder, and shall pay into the City Treasury a yearly license fee of $30.00 in advance, which license shall not be transferable. Every Installer of such equipment shall pay in addition to the license herein provided for a license of one-tenth one-tenth of one percentum on all appliances and equipment sold by the installer and using liquefied lique-fied petroleum gases and on all petroleum gas sold within Cedar City, Utah, which license shall be computed In the same manner man-ner and obtained yearly at the same time as Bet forth in the nrdlnanoM nf Cedar C.ltv' Utah. relating to retail sales licenses. Section 2. INSTALLERS TO OBTAIN PERMITS. No person, firm or corporation shall perform any work In the installation of equipment for the burning of liquefied petroleum gases within Cedar City, Utah without first having obtained a permit for said installation from the Building Inspector of Cedar City, Utah. No permit shall be issued to any person who dees not hold a license as above provided. pro-vided. It shall be unlawful to begin be-gin the Installation of any equipment equip-ment for the burning or use of liquefied petroleum gases or make any additions or alterations altera-tions to a system already Installed, Install-ed, without first obtaining said permit. Section 3. FEES. A fee of $2.00 shall be charged for each permit for the first five fixtures and fifty cents for each additional fixture installed In a home or building in Cedar City. Section 4. INSPECTION OF INSTALLATIONS. All Installations of equipment for the use of liquefied petroleum petro-leum gases shall be inspected and passed upon by the building inspector of Cedar City, Utah. Notice shall be given to the Building Inspector by the installer install-er of said system at the time the installation is complete and before be-fore the system Is covered or concealed. con-cealed. The building inspector shall then make said Inspection -and if the system has been Installed In-stalled according to the standards stand-ards hereinafter set forth, he shall approve the sanw but if said system has not been so Installed In-stalled he shall notify the installer in-staller wherein said system does not meet the minimum requirements re-quirements and subsequent inspections in-spections shall be made to determine deter-mine if the standards have been met. For the second or subsequent subse-quent Inspections ($2.50) per inspection in-spection shall be charged. Section 5. REVOCATION OF LICENSE. The City Council may, for repeated re-peated violations of this ordinance ordin-ance by any installer of equip-iment equip-iment for the use of liquefied petroleum pe-troleum gases, or for the refusal by said installer to comply with the requirements of the building inspector, revoke the license of said Installer, or at the end of the licensing period, may refuse to issue a new license. Section 6. STANDARDS FOR INSTALLATION. The design, Installation and construction of containers and equipment for the storage, handling han-dling and use of liquefied petroleum petro-leum gases, which for the purposes pur-poses of this ordinance include any material which Is composed predominantly of any of the following fol-lowing hydro-carbons, or mixtures mix-tures of them, to-wit: propane, propylene, butanes (normal butane bu-tane or iso-butane) and buty-lenes, buty-lenes, shall be in conformity with Phamphlet No. 58 and as may be hereafter modified, for Standards of the National Board of Fire Underwriters for the Design, De-sign, Installation and construction construc-tion of Containers and Pertinent Equipment for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases as Recommended by the National Fire Protective Association, Associa-tion, which rules and requir-mcnts requir-mcnts are hereby made a part of this ordinance. Not less than three copies of Phamphlet No. 58 described in this section shall be kept on file for use and examination examin-ation by the public in the office of the Recorder of Cedar City, Utah. Section 7. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take ef-feet ef-feet at the expiration of the twentieth day after publication or on the thirtieth day after final passage, or whichever of said days is the most remote from the final pasage of such ordinance.
