Show Air Express Gains InCedaiCity Alt Express shipments handled through Cedar City showed a gain of 74 per cent in the first half of 1948, W. A. Painter, agent of Railway Express Agency, reported re-ported today. A total of 513 shipments were dispatched for the nation's scheduled, sche-duled, certificated airlines during dur-ing the six month period, compared com-pared with 295 shipments in the similar 1947 half year. Gross revenue rev-enue of this traffic was up 150 percent, Mr. Painter said. Shipments handled in and out of Cedar City in June gained 65 per cent over June, 1947 amounting amount-ing to 41 shipments. Gross revenue rev-enue of this traffic increased 199 per pent, the express agent said. Nationwide air express marked mark-ed up a gain of 11.5 per cent for the first six months of 1948, while June shipments were 8 per cent higher than a year ago, it was reported. . |
