Show Antiaircraft Units Seek Recruits A special opportunity for Iron county World War II veterans with Antiaircraft Artillery train-In? train-In? to enlist In the U. S. Army in advanced grades ranging up to Sergeant First Class (formerly (former-ly Technical Sergeant) was announced an-nounced today by 1st Sgt. C. N. Staker, Station Commander. Open to Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard veterans as well as to former Army and Air Force men, this special Inducement has been provided to attract qualified quali-fied personnel for new antiaircraft antiair-craft units organized under the recently authorized expansion of the Army, Sgt. Staker explained. "Men trained in one or more of 21 different Antiaircraft Artil-' Artil-' lery technical specialties may qualify for this opportunity if they have been honorably discharged dis-charged from one of the Armed Forces since May 12, 1945". They may enlist for three, four, five or six years, with assurance of being assigned to Antiaircraft Artillery duties. These specialties include such highly technical fields as radar operation and maintenance, fire control electronics, communications, communica-tions, gunnery, and artillery mechanics. me-chanics. Men who can qualify for these openings will in some cases be given advanced technical techni-cal training in their chosen fields. |
