Here, they were issued clothing and shoes and given modest monthly allowances to buy food and other necessities at the market. They are eligible for this up to one year. The children go to nearby schools and kindergartens, and there were two day-car- e centers in the building where mothers left very young children in the mornings while they received Hebrew lessons.
