Readers responded with gusto, donating 113 blankets as well as coats, pants and sweaters. Members of the 54th Ward, friends and readers all assisted in the program. Some people who didn't have any spare blankets actually bought new ones to donate. do-nate. Last week, Darren and some of his fellow troop members delivered the items to the Salt Lake Rescue Mission. "When we delivered the blankets and clothing to the rescue res-cue mission, they were so thankful. They said that they were just about out," Darren said. Darren said he could not have successfully completed his project pro-ject without the help of the scouts in his ward and the donors. do-nors. "It was a good experience for everyone except maybe my mom who said that because we washed wash-ed all the blankets, our washer and dryer will never be the same again," Darren said. |
