I ' - mi ' tx' f fill . i MISHEL MOON AND KRISTI MORGAN Local runners excel OGDEN Several runners from Clearfield and Layton High Schools were successful at the Region Re-gion One cross-country meet and qualified for the state contest. Representing Clearfield High at , state was Glen Combe, a ninth grade student at North Davis Junior High who runs with Clearfield's team. Glen placed first at region with a time of 15:51.01 for the three mile course. Ed Guptill, the other Davis County runner who qualified, qual-ified, placed eighth at region with a time of 16:07.32. Region winners in the girls' division divi-sion included Mishel Moon, who placed sixth with a time of 20:06.79 and Kristi Morgan, who came in seventh with a time of 20:12.60. Mishel and Kristi are both sophomores sopho-mores on Layton High's team. Layton High's girls' cross country coun-try team consisting of Mary Jane Stevenson, Jessica Velliriga, Lisa O'Brien, Kristen Kikstad, Annie Whittaker, Mishel Moon and Kristi Morgan scored high enough in the Region One meet to qualify for state.
