Show Volleyball season concludes quietly w ROY The high school volleyball season ended quietly for the two local entries in this year's 4-A state tournament. Bountiful was eliminated Tuesday afternoon, sent packing by Weber in two games. Last year's runnerup could never get things going this time, though Coach Jill Avery did praise the play of seniors Stephanie Reading and Robyn Ludwig, both of whom had fine tournaments. Woods Cross was able to extend its play into a third day, as it captured a 90-minute three-game match with Alta on Tuesday evening. Coach Debbie Peel said all of her starters played well in Tuesday's match. ' . . But the Wildcats ran into a fired-up Roy squad on Wednesday, Wednes-day, losing in two games. Taylorsville won the state title with a victory in the finals over Mountain View. Attention is now turned to basketball, which will begin with practice games after Thanksgiving. |
