Show Earl Partridge Wixom LAYTON Earl Partridge Wixom, 88, of 605 Adams St., died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 1988 at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden of causes incident to age. He was born Jan. 13, 1900 in Fillmore, Fill-more, a son of Josiah Wilbur and Mary Aloha Partridge Wixom. He married Olive Cecilia Nunn, Sept. 23, 1925 in Burley, Ida. He was a radio technician at Hill Air Force Base for three years. He and his wife were the owners of Mrs. Wixom Frontier Lady Chocolates. Choco-lates. He was a professional square dance caller for the department of recreation in Ogden; caller for the national square dance convention in San Diego, Calif.; summer school caller at the University of Maine, Orinao, Maine, and summer sum-mer caller for the city recreation department in Bar Harbor, Maine. He enjoyed ceramics, art and leatherwork. Surviving are his widow of Layton, one son and two daughters, daugh-ters, Robert (Bob) Wixom, Layton; Mrs. Gary (Carol) Egbert, Layton; Mrs. Lu (Lyolya) Win-sor, Win-sor, Gig Harbor, Wash.; 19 grandchildren grand-children and 38 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Calvin Wixom, Hemet, Calif. He was preceded in death by four brothers. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Layton Mortuary. Bishop Robert W. Winegar officiated offi-ciated at funeral services on Nov. 7. Family prayer was offered by Gary Egbert; prelude, VeAnn Molander; "How Great Thou Art" by Becky Wixom and Kris Talbot accompanied by Pam Handrahan; invocation, Mike Burton; remarks, Bishop Robert W. Winegar; speaker, speak-er, Tom Winegar; musical selection selec-tion by Mel Teeples and Ralph Harding; speaker, Lynn Burton; poem, "Cycles," written by Earl Wixom, read by Marilu Coster, granddaughter; "My Home", written by Janie Nebeker, performed per-formed by Shauna Durbano; benediction, be-nediction, Bishop Charles Price. Dedication of the grave was by Luther S. Winsor with interment in the Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton. Pallbearers were Gregg Wixom, . EARL PARTRIDGE WIXOM He was reared in Fillmore, Canada and Burley, Ida. He had lived in Wyoming, Idaho and Murray. Mur-ray. He had resided in Layton since 1943. He was a member of the Layton 12th LDS Ward where he served as a High Priest. He had held many other positions in the church including in-cluding ward clerk, Sunday School superintendent and instructor of the High Priest quorum. He had been an educator for many years starting his career in Freedom, Wyo., in 1937. He had taught at the Indian Boarding School in Fort Hall, Ida.; had been principal both in Freedom and Star Valley, Wyo. He was an art teacher at Murray High School for three years; Ogden City Schools for 20 years. He was treasurer for two years and president for one year of the Utah Art Educators, with a gold medal selection as State Tyson Egbert, Stanley Wixom, Brett Hansen, Craig Mulleneaux and Richard Pettit. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Winsor, Brian Winsor, Lance Mulleneaux, Wayne Winsor and Harry Coster. |
