Dear Editor, I'm in the ninth grade at Millcreek Junior High. I'm writing about how the schools are running throughout the state. I know that some schools have year around school and I think that is a good idea and all schools should have it. Why do we need three months summer vacation? Most kids around here get bored after a week or two unless they travel for the whole three, but not too many people have that much money. Some go on vacation for about a week or two but after that they get bored and want to go back to school. After that three months we get back to school and we review for about a half a term or even a term because during that vacation time we forgot what we learned last year. During that reviewing we could be learning something new. Another thing, teachers are getting more and more benetits. Why is that? Why do we have so much time off during the year. I figure we have 18-20 days off during the year. We have at least one day off a month, two off during Thanksgiving, 11 off on Christmas. These holidays are good, but we don't need so many days off during those holidays. I'm eager to learn and I hope you'll do something about this. Please write to me with some answers. Daniel Bruso
