Show Don Austin Taylor CLEARFIELD Don Austin Taylor, 81, of 186 N. 300 E., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 1988 at his home of causes incident to age. He was born Sept. 6, 1907 in Plain City, a son of Parley Paul and Estella Dora Hodson Taylor. He married Mildred Barlow Sept. 8, 1933 in Salt Lake City. She died Sept. 21, 1988. He was reared and educated in Plain City attending Weber County public schools and graduated from Weber High School. He had lived in Clearfield the past 55 years. He and his wife had owned and operated Taylor's A&W Root Beer Drive Inns in Layton and Sunset for many years. He had also worked work-ed at the Ogden Arsenal and at Hill Air Force Base for 23 years. He was an avid hunter, breeder and trainer of thoroughbred horses. He was a member of the American Amer-ican Quarter Horse Association and the New York Jockey Club. He was a member of the Clearfield Clear-field Seventh LDS Ward. Surviving are one son and three daughters, Don Barlow Taylor, West Point; Mrs. Gary S. (Marylyn) Flint, Hooper; Done " M. Taylor, Clearfield; Mrs. Kay (Joyce) Sessions, Bountiful; seven grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, George Arnold Taylor, Grant Blair Taylor, both of Ogden; Kenneth Paul Taylor, East Layton. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one sister. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary. Bishop F. LeRoy Glazier officiated offici-ated at funeral services Nov. 9. Family prayer was offered by Daniel I. D'Hulst Jr.; prelude, Madeline Barlow; musical recording, record-ing, "Run For The Roses;" invocation, in-vocation, Lynn Dearden; poem, Todd D'Hulst; speaker, Bishop F. LeRoy Glazier; poem, Bob Kirk-man; Kirk-man; "September Song," Janet Ostler; benediction, Bob Kirkman. Dedication of the grave was by Jesse Sharkey with interment in the Clearfield City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel I. D'Hulst Jr., Mike Jones, Dan Wilson, Wil-son, Don B. Taylor, Jay Sharkey, Gary S. Flint and Kay A. Sessions. |
