Show Br?.- ? Caroline Shepherd gust 13, 1889 in Springville the daughter of John Thomas and Mary Catherine Webster Barker. Bar-ker. She married Asa Shepherd on June 28, 1909 in Provo with the marriage later being solemnized sol-emnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, November 25, 1909. He died October 1, 1953 at the age of 67. Mrs. Shepherd lived in Hobble Hob-ble Creek Canyon until 1910 when she moved to Mapleton, then to Silver City, Mammoth, and then to Mapleton. Later she moved to Springville and has resided here for the past 20 years. She is an active member mem-ber of the LDS Church and has served in the Relief Society So-ciety as a visiting teacher for 25 years. She was in charge of the birthday cards for six years in Relief Society. She has been very active in temple work. Her hobby is working in her beautiful flower garden and also doing croochet work. She is a member of the Senior Citizens. She is the mother of nine children, five of whom are still living: Mrs. Mark (Eva) Dur-rant, Dur-rant, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Ray (Donna) Conder, American Fork; Mrs. Ralph (Helen) Miller. Mil-ler. Provo; Floyd Shepherd, Mrs. Kenneth I Ruth) Lowe of Springville. She has twenty grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Shepherd to be honored at open house The family of Mrs. Caroline Shepherd, wife of the late Asa Shepherd, will honor their mo-their mo-their at an open house Wednesday, Wednes-day, August 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at her home, 692 East 700 South, on the occasion of her 80th birthday.
