Show Open letter High electric rates in city cited by reader Sirs: I think it time it is brought to public attention the extremely ex-tremely high electric rates the people of Springville City are - being charged. I was told by your utilities man, Springville rates were the same as Utah Power and Light. This just is not the case and I will explain. Our last light bill, month of June, for an empty house, no washer, no cooking, no anything any-thing but a water heater and frig running, no one using was chargei us at the rate of 490 hours, the bill for electricity being $11.68 for 490 hours. I just checked Utah Power nd Light rates and their charge for 490 hours is $9.16, a difference differ-ence of $2.52. I would say that is quite a difference, one that everyone in Springville would be wise to take under consideration. consider-ation. I cannot either comprehend compre-hend a bill for 490 hours for one month for an empty house when two months on Utah Power and Light, same appliances appli-ances is 650 hours and $15.70 for two months against $11.68 for one month in Springville.
