Show E. A. Strong, Jr. at Philmont Boy Scout Ranch Ernest A. (Bert) Strong Jr. is participating in the volunteer volun-teer training program at Philmont Phil-mont Scout Ranch and Explorer Explor-er Base at Cimarron, New Mexico. Mr. Strong, contractor for Strong Construction Co., is enrolled en-rolled in the "Mormon" Leaders Workshop Conference, which is part of the national training program organized by the National Na-tional Council, Boy Scouts of America, in cooperation with the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Heading the week-long training train-ing session is Folkman D. Brown, National Director of "Mormon" Relations for the Boy Scouts of America. Assisting Assist-ing him are Bishop Robert L. All are veteran Philmont Phil-mont conference leaders. Accompanying the Church leaders while they are in training, train-ing, more than 400 members of their families will be taking advantage of the full program of activities offered for all age groups. This Philmont training session ses-sion is one of 25 courses that will be offered to about 1,000 volunteer Scout leaders this summer. In addition to adult training, more than 11,000 Explorers and older Boy Scouts will be visiting the 214-square mile ranch this summer to take 12-day 12-day high adventure expeditions into the rugged Sangre de Cri-sto Cri-sto range of the Rocky Mountains.
