The Philmont Conservation Training Camp is designed to give young men an introduction introduc-tion to conservation and natural na-tural history. Participants become be-come aware of the misuse of natural resources and how these resources can be conserved conser-ved by better usage. Preparing Scouts to train others when they return to their home units, the program includes study in wildlife management, man-agement, timberland improvement, improve-ment, soil and' water conservation, conserva-tion, ecology and geology. The Scouts are taught how these skills are necessary for the preservation of animals, such as elk, deer, buffalo, antelope and bear which are abundant on the Ranch. |
