Show American Legion, Auxiliary at party Legion members and Legion Auxiliary members met in a delightful Christmas program meeting last Wednesday evening eve-ning under the direction of President Lela Nelson. Vice president Reva Lynn conducted. The pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Mable Brown. Invocation was by Commander Max Knight. The hall was festively decorated dec-orated in Christmas decorations in keeping with the season. Five students from the Grant School sang "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" accompanied by Linda Cluff. Julia Sumsion played a medley of Christmas music on the piano. Manila Broown was in charge of the program and introduced Mrs. Carter of Mapleton who gave two Christmas stories. Vera Perham gave the legislative report re-port and then spirited Santa Claus appeared and handed out popcorn balls and led the mem-song mem-song sheets and led the members mem-bers in a number of songs. Gary Allan, Dean I.arsen, and Cheryl Brown played and sang with guitar accompaniment. Tasty buffet refreshemnts were served to approximately 40 at the conclusion of the meeting. Mrs. Jerry Cluff and her son Darren, accompanied Linda's Lin-da's mother, Mary Weight, to California by auto and spent a week visiting in Southern California with brothers and sisters and families. In San Gabriel they visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe (LaRue) Sanders; at Whittier, the Robert Rob-ert Weights; at Riverside, Mr. and Mrs. Earl (Joyce) Prest-wich Prest-wich and at Baldwin Park, Jay Weight. Mary Weight will spend the winter months In California. |
