Show Tonight at high school Programmed to entertain with outstanding "Sounds of Christmas," the music department de-partment at the Springville High School will present a special holiday concert this evening at the school auditorium. audi-torium. Free to the public the Christmas musical will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature the high school orchestra under the direction of Harmon Har-mon Hatch; the a cappella. choir, the mixed chorus and girls' chorus. Also playing in the concert will be the Springville High School Band and the high school stage band. The choruses and the bands are directed by David Thayne, who is in his first year as director ov er these groups at the high school. Mr. Thayne's a cappella choir has sung a number of times throughout the city and in Provo and Salt Lake City. They were invited to sing in the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City last Friday and had previously sung on a mid-day TV program and also at the state prison and Eldred Hospital. Tonight's concert will climax cli-max weeks of preparation by the groups for the annual Christmas extravaganza. The public is cordially invited invit-ed to attend the musical in the high school auditorium equipped for sound and lighting for such a production. |
