Show SHS dramatics teacher on broadway tour Merrill R. Carter of 11 South 400 East, Springville, has returned re-turned from tourning Broadway Broad-way in New York. The tour was sponsored by the Brigham Young University Department of Travel Study. ' They enjoyed seven top plays and musicals packed into a five-night, six-day theatrical feast on glittering Broadway. BYU's potent, perceptive interpreter inter-preter Dr. Charles Metten added ad-ded depth to the whole extrava- g'anza with tours of New York playhouses, visits with Broadway Broad-way personalities, and dinner at Sardi's. Before the tour began they briefly covered the history of the American Theatre. The group jetted from Salt Lake City direct to New York. The tour participants enjoyed two breakfast meetings with special theatrical guests and a midnight mid-night supper at Sardi's. A film classic was viewed in the Museum Mu-seum of Modern Art Film Library Li-brary and a tour was conducted conduc-ted of the fantastic Lincoln Center theatrical complex for the travelers. |
