Show Christmas music featured at DUP Camp Locust Grove DUP held its December meeting last Thursday and hosted by Janet C. Bird at the old John Hafen home. She was assisted by her neice, Judy Miner. A beautiful Christmas tree and decorations set the mood for the event. Captain Bird conducted the meeting. Songs were led by Luella Wilson with Judy Miner at the piano. The prayer was by Chaplain Elizabeth Eliza-beth Miner. The lesson, "Unpublished "Un-published Stories" was given by Barbara Hendrickson. Musical Musi-cal numbers and special piano solo, "Silent Night ' wore given. giv-en. Mrs. Wilson read and sang two numbers. Each lady told "What Christmas means to me." White elephant gifts were exchanged and lunch was served serv-ed to 12 members and one visitor. vis-itor. Secretary Rose Nielson gave each member a tipoklet of her original poems as a special gift. The next meeting' will be held January 9 at the home of Sylvia Syl-via Crandall. President Abraham Lincoln personally witnessed the Union defense of Ft. Stevens, near the nation's capital, during the Civil War. |
