Show Whistling swans begin to arrive Whistling swans are beginning begin-ning to arrive on northern Utah marshes as the 1967 waterfowl wa-terfowl season swings into the second month of action. Arriving a little later than usual, the big birds are being sighted on marsh areas around Bear River Refuge and Ogden Bay. Over 3,000 birds are now in the area and more are arriving daily. The majority of the swans are on the Bear River Refuge west of Brigham City and they will filter down to Ogden and Farmington Bay as the cold weather becomes more preva.-lent. preva.-lent. This represents approximate ly three-fourths of the Pacific Flyway population. The 1,000 Whistling swan permit holders should have ample am-ple opportunity to harvest their bird before the season closes on January 4, 1968. For safer winter driving on Utah streets and highways, turn on your lights whenever visibility is poor. Don't wait until you can't see . . .turn on your low beams in the fog, rain or whenever you want to make sure you can be seen easily. And the Utah Safety Council says, it follows logically log-ically in traffic you have to be seen to be missed. |
