Show Club group enjoys patriotic program The "Challenge of Being Free," was the subject of a patriotic topic presented by Mrs. Hal Clyde at the meeting of the Jeune Mere Club, Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, at the home of Mrs. Harold Whiting. Mrs. Russell Blackett was co-hostess. Mrs. Clyde referred to the book, "Miracle of Philadelphia" by Catherin Drinker Bowen, and challenged each member present with the question, "What is significant to you?" stating that never in history have we been so free. She pointed out among many things that the basic value of freedom is human dignity. Vocal numbers were presented present-ed by Lenore Bills and Beth Jensen, club members and Ole-ah Ole-ah Sargent played patriotic numbers on the piano. The previous meeting of the club was held at the home of Mrs. DeVon Ford with Mrs. Jack Canot, assisting hostess. The program was presented by Mrs. Ernest Boyer who explained ex-plained the operation of the BYU program bureau and described des-cribed some of the events outlined out-lined by the bureau. Next meeting of the club will be Dec. 6, with husbands of members as guests. |
