Show 1 . Thunderbird Awards Assembly Scheduled The cream of the crop, the most outstanding students on the Southern Utah State College campus, will be honored Thursday evening at the annual Thunderbird . Awards Assembly. Ceremonies begin at 7:30 in the Thorley Recital Hall and the public is invited to attend according to Greg Glazier, academic affairs coordinator. "Awards are given for outstanding students in each school, ' in various depart ments, and in many other areas of . special achievement, scholarship and contribution," Glazier said. Among the special presentations are the ASSUSC President's Award, Booster Award, Prestige Arrow, Prestige Spear, Utah Historical Society Award, Sterling Silver Award, Harry S. Truman Award, Utah Assocaition of CPA's Accounting Student Award, and the naming of faculty senate, alumni and institutional in-stitutional council scholarship recipients. Other prestige awards will be made to outstanding male and female faculty members, mem-bers, for outstanding maje and female contribution, and to the outstanding male and female of the year. In the school of education, awards will be made to outstanding students in physical education, to the two Pestalozzi award winners in elementary and secondary .; education, and to the Mary Muir Dunham Scholarship recipient. Pestalozzi nominees, elementary education, include: in-clude: Mary Joe Chase, Sandra Gail Curtis, Jill Henderson, JillC. Shipp, Sue A. Southwick and R. Scott Zingelman. Pestalozzi nominees, secondary education, include: in-clude: Cindy. Ann Bartholomew, Bar-tholomew, Janice Mae Bick-more, Bick-more, Larry "0" Hatch, Robert Dee Louder, Charlinda Ann Munford and David A. Robinson. In the school of science, outstanding students in physical and life sciences will be announced. Nominees, outstanding physical science student, include: Meg Knudson, Randy Morris and John Reese. Nominees, life sciences, are: Lee Ann Branch, Pat Brown, Hugh Behling, Alma Maciulis and Ron Johnson. Also announced will be school of arts and letters winners. Nominees for the outstanding student in arts and letters are: Lawrence Esplin, Steve Mann, Teena Mecham, and Margaret "Muffy" Young. Nominees, performing arts student, are: Grandon Brewer, Karen Carnahan, Peter Cook and Christine Win-terrose. Win-terrose. Four awards will be made by the school of business and technology. Nominees for the outstanding accounting student are: Jami George, Hans Hafen, Julie , Jorgensen, Daniel McArthur and Jon Reese. Outstanding business education nominees are: Janice Mae Bickmore, Kaye Judd and Rita Twitchell. Nominees, outstanding business administration student, are: James Deakin, Jacki Howa, Mark Slack and Cyndi Woodbury. Nominees, outstanding industrial education student, include: Andy Earle, Jeff Johnson, LaMar Johnson and Curt Wilde. |
