Show Open House Honor Tullis The children of Stirling and Mildred Tullis wish to invite all friends and relatives to an open house honoring their parents on their golden wedding anniversary, an-niversary, May 26, from 8 till 10 p.m. with a program at 8:30 p.m. at the New Castle Ward Chapel. Stirling was born to John ' Hardman and Ida Stirling Tullis in Leeds, Ut. He received his schooling in New Castle, Hinckley, and Cedar City. He is a sports enthusiast and was involved in football at the Hinckley High School, and was on the first football team at the 3ranch Agricultural College in Cedar City. He was a ' farmer and dairyman. Mildred was born to , Franklin Dennis and Mildred Skinner Farnsworth in Beaver, Ut. She attended schools at Beaver; Rupert, Idaho and Cedar City. She graduated from BAC where she was associate editor of the college paper her last year there. She was also involved in dramatics at the college. Stirling and Mildred were married May 28, 1930 at Caliente, Nevada. On October 2, 1930, their marriage was solomnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They have been very active in work for their church. Stirling served in Stirling and Mildred Tullis various auxiliaries, as Ward Clerk and on two Bishoprics. Mildred was involved in Stake MIA and in all the ward auxiliaries. She was Postmaster of New Castle for twelve and a half years. They recently served an eighteen month mission in the Independence Missouri Mission. They are now serving as Ordinance Workers in the St. George Temple. Hosting the open house will be their children; Colleen and Veron Gilbert, Grantsville, Utah; Jack and Carol Tullis, San Jose, Calif.; Jim and Lanita Tullis, Cedar City; Dan and Marilyn Tullis, New Castle; Kirk Tullis, Orem, Ut. The couple request no gifts please. |
