Show J Two Students receive t Scholarships t j Two Cedar City students are the recipients of a $100 scholarship presented by the Utah Public Employees Association and the Utah State Employees Credit Union. They are Kent Wade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wade, 949 South Cedar Knolls, and Mrs. Barbara Ann Starr, daughter of Mr. Marlon Steele, 386 South 900 West, Cedar City. The scholarships were presented by the UPEA Five County District at their annual Spring Business Meeting, April 30, 1980. Mrs. Starr has attended Southern Utah State for 2 years and has a composite major in English and Elementary Education. She plans to receive both Elementary and Secondary Education Certificates. She plans to finish her education at SUSC and to teach in the Cedar City area. Mr. Wade's main interest in continuing his education is to "attain the necessary skills and knowledge to become a part of bur highly technologically advanced society." "I feel further education is a must to achieve this," he said. Mr. Wade is majoring in computer com-puter electronics. Both students plan to use their scholarships to continue con-tinue their respective educations. ; David Allan Gossard as the captain; Marjorie Snyder as the Lion; and Marie Del Marco as teh stingy old man in f SUSC's production "Androchles and the Lion." It's being presented presen-ted in the Japanese Kabuki style and offers children and adults alike a rare theatrical treat. |
