Show Joseph Cody Bess, 3 dies in car accident; services by Bishop Glen Halterman, John Bentley and Bishop Reginald Hughes as speakers. Sandy Adams sang "Love One Another" and "I Am A Child of God". She was accompanied by '' Joseph Cody Bess, age 3, died February 21, 1980 in Parowan in a truck-pedestrian truck-pedestrian accident. He was born December 21, 1976 in Cedar City to Kenneth Lawrence and Cathryn Christensen Bess. He was a member of the LDS church. Survivors include his parents, two brothers and two sisters: Layne, Kirk, Stacie and Amher all of Parowan. Grandparents, Phillip and Joyce Christensen of Las Vegas, Nevada and Cleo Bess of Parowan; great grandparents, grand-parents, Helga Christensen and Laighton and Pauline Dennett all of Cedar City.' Funeral services were held Monday February 35, JS80 at 1 p.m. in the Parowan ' 3rd LDS Ward Chapel with1 Bishop Reginald Hughes officiating. Chad Christensen gave the family prayer. Vyonne Chamberlain Cham-berlain rendered the prelude and postlude music. Sue Jensen sang "Bridge over Troubled Waters" accompanied ac-companied by Janeen Jolley. Ray Bess gave the invocation of the services followed by an eulogy by Garry Wayne Graf. Roy West sang a medley followed j li.' ,:tiiM ..i ,?MaievAdams:,! ?l Jay Don Alger offered the benediction before traveling to the cemetery where Howard Joseph dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Kim Bess, Shane Bess, Danny Stones and Antone Stones. All of Cody's cousins served as honorary pallbearers. Interment in the Parowan City Cemetery under the direction of Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary. |
