Show LOOKING BACK November 14, 1914 Recorded events of a particular period of time become important historical documents as time passes on. The following document, a 1914 Record of Officers of the Cedar East Ward of the Parowan Stake, gives an insight into some significant history. The original document was brought to my attention by George Manning and I pass it along to our readers assuming that you will find the document interesting to you. It is noteworthy to indicate that in 1914, there were two wards of the LDS Church in Cedar City and they were a part of the Parowan Stake. At the present time the "old Parowan Stake" has been subsequently . divided to include Parowan, Cedar, Cedar West, Cedar North and the SUSC Stakes. All in all they contain some 30 wards. Officers of the Ward were sustained as follows: Solon J. Foster, Bishop; Henry H. Lunt, First Counselor; George Esplin, Second Counselor; Franklin B. Wood, Ward Clerk; Erastus B. Dalley, Ward Chorister; and A. N. Tollestrup, Ward Organist. Acting Teachers were: Joseph Wilkinson, Orson Bryant, Oscar Lunt, Royce Nelson, Herbert Webster, Urie Williams, Thomas Lunt, Calvin Pendleton, Thomas Lawrence, Walker Melling, O.P. Bergstrom, John A. Booth , Alex H. Rollo, Byron Ahlstrom, E. E. Williams, R. A. Thorley, Stewart Thorley, Parson Webster and Henry W. Lunt. Priests' Quorum were: Bishop Solon J. Foster, President; Henry H. Lunt, First Counselor; George Esplin, Second Counselor. First Quorum of Deacons were: Morgan Rollo, President; Henry Webster, First Counselor; William Tucker, Jr., Secretary. Relief Society were: Carolin Schoppmann, President; Josephine Hallman, First Counselor; Sarah D. Corry, Second Counselor; Sarah A. Nelson, Secretary . and Sarah E. Walker, Treasurer. Sunday School were: Hunter Lunt, Superintendent; A. N. Leonard, First Assistant; Stewart Thorley, Second Assistant; William C. Rigbee, Secretary; and Alex H. Rollo, Treasurer. Young Men's Mutual Improvement Association were: Calvin Pendleton, Superintendent; Roland Hunter, First Assistant; Royce Nelson, Second Assistant; and Abner Perry, Secretary. Young Ladies' Mutual Improvement Associaton were: Jennie Thorley, President; Catheline Webster, First Counselor; Janet Rollo, Second Counselor; Norine Bulloch, Secretary; and Delia Corry, Assn. Sec. and Treas. Primary Association officers were: Francell L. Corry, President; Bell Armstrong, First Counselor; Maggie Roche-, Second Counselor; Lottie Esplin, Secretary; and Pauline Wood, Assn. Secretary and Assn. Treasurer. Religion Class officer was E. B. Dalley, Superintendent. Superin-tendent. Old Folks Committee were John P. Nelson, Naomi Nelson, Chas, N. Corry, Francell Corry, John D.
